Welcome to the Edmund Cardinal Szoka Library at Sacred Heart Major Seminary
Welcome to the new online home of the Edmund Cardinal Szoka Library at Sacred Heart Major Seminary. We are pleased to offer this new, more intuitive, and user friendly environment to our students, faculty, and membership. From this site you can access the library catalog from here at Sacred Heart, or from any computer with an internet connection

Students and faculty are encouraged to log-in to their individual library accounts where they can make and manage acquisitions suggestions, creat lists, reserve books, and recieve notices from the library staff.

The USEFUL LINKS menu on the left of the screen contains links to the databases that the Szoka Library subscribes to.  SHMS students and faculty have access to these resources wherever they can access the Internet. From off campus, users will be prompted to log-in using their SHMS credentials.
Library Information
The Szoka Library has recently changed its hours and access schedule.  The new hours are as follows:

Monday - Friday: 8:30-4:30
(all are welcome)
Monday-Friday: 4:30-10:00
(students and Faculty only)
Saturday & Sunday: Noon-5:00
(Students and Faculty only)

To access the library after 4:30 and on the weekends, students and faculty will need a vallid SHMS ID badge, which can be obtained in the library.
 
Google Scholar
In addition to using the SHMS catalog for research needs, Google Scholar provides a great way to use the internet to continue your research while filtering out non-scholarly results.
